On Saturday, June 25, our team of 19 arrived safely in Montego Bay following a few minor travel delays. (Back-up flight crew, a plane that needed brakes and a replacement plane) The delay did, however, allow our team to experience God’s grace in action as the journey through Immigration and Customs, alongside passengers from multiple international flights, took more than 2 hours. But we all made it through with our luggage.

We were then met outside Arrivals by the smiling faces of the CSI Ministries missionaries. Our luggage was loaded into the truck and we boarded  the buses to began our journey to the mission house, stopping for Jamaican jerk chicken along the way.

After arriving at the mission house we got settled into our rooms, had an orientation meeting and headed off to bed thanking God for his goodness and grace.

Sunday morning, after breakfast and devotions, we attended services at Bethel United Church. How wonderful it is for an opportunity to worship together with our brothers and sisters in a different country, in a different style, but to the same God.
Our afternoon was low key with lunch and a bit of rest, before traveling to the Pringle Girl’s Home. While there we enjoyed playing board games with and getting to know the stories of many of the girls.

Once back at the mission house we ate dinner, met to discuss the schedule for the week ahead and readied ourselves for bed.
Monday will be a busy day, and God will be at work through his people.
