The Living Word
“Delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” Psalm 37:4
As I look back on the past year, I am in awe of God and praise Him for the love He has shown me. While I am reflecting on memories of years gone by, I was so blessed to have had the privilege of traveling to the Holy Land in 2013. Israel was amazing! To be there and walk where Jesus walked was a spiritual high like nothing I have experienced. Now, as I read my Bible, it is totally different because it comes alive before my very eyes! It truly is “the living word.”
In Acts 7:38 it says, “He was in the assembly in the wilderness, with the angel who spoke to him on Mount Sinai, and with our ancestors; and he received living words to pass on to us.” (NIV) This is referring to Moses and how he had received “the tabernacle of the covenant law.” The people rebelled against what had been given them, as many of us do today.
We have the most wonderful book ever written, the Bible, but do we truly believe it? Or do we pick and choose what we want to believe? In 2 Timothy 3:16 it says, “All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” Are you willing to be trained?
Lord, my prayer for this coming year is that I can “hide your words in my heart that I might not sin against you.” I want to be a blessing daily and to love with your love. Please help me. Amen
