Mt Zion UMC is successfully bringing another day on the mission field in Jamaica to a close. As darkness closes in…it starts getting dark here really early, we have time to share and reflect on the day. We were awaken by tropical rains and wondered if our day would be washed out…but here in Jamaica the rains are hard but don’t last too long. The bad weather did slow our VBS children since most have morning chores then walk to church. It slowed them, but did not stop them…by 10 we had a nice crowd and dug into the story of Jonah. The lesson today focused on how God wants us to repent and turn from our sins and that we can’t run away from God. After VBS, we joined the rest of the team at the building site. By the end of the workday all walls are up, doors and windows cut and 2 coats of paint on the house. The house will be finished and dedicated tomorrow afternoon.
When we returned to the CSI Ministries mission house we were rewarded with Pinto’s amazing fried chicken and went to Highgate for some ice cream. Pinto’s famous fried chicken…KFC wishes they had her secret recipe…..
Now our attention is focused on preparing for tomorrow. We have been very blessed here so far and anxious for Wednesday’s challenges and gifts from God.
