Wednesday in Jamaica was picture perfect. The day began with Pinto’s famous omelets and cinnamon covered johnny cake! Yum. The VBS crowd swelled in attendance today with each group doubling in size from Monday. The lesson was on 4 men-2 boats and a fishing lesson. We learned how Peter didn’t want to listen to Jesus’s advice on where to cast his net. When he cast it where Jesus said he pulled in more fish than the boats could hold! Peter learned to not be proud and to follow Jesus’s plans not his own. After VBS we loaded the van and went to the construction site for the dedication. Kayon and her children were the recipients of the new house. We sang songs of praise, prayed together, look at the word of God, and then presented the family with their new keys. House dedication is always a heartwarming experience!
After supper, the team was entertained by some local talent. Two of the singers are part of the CSI staff. Rounding out the talent was a mother and her son who sang several songs too. It was another great day in Jamaica full of blessings. Tomorrow will bring VBS to an end and sadly we will have to say goodbye to some of the sweetest faces on the island!
