What a glorious day worshiping our Lord with the beautiful people at Maranatha Community Church!
The team started our day with devotions on the veranda where we were reminded that as we serve this week, we are a wonderful aroma to God. (2 Corinthians 2:14-15). We were then treated to Pinto’s homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast. Afterwards, we traveled to the Carron Hall area of Highgate to worship with our Jamaican friends at Maranatha. Suzette led the congregation in over an hour of spirited, energetic singing before Sister Joy brought the message. We were all blessed by our time worshiping together with those we have all come to love so much.
After a picnic lunch we went to Pringle Home for Children where we spent the afternoon playing games and getting to know the girls who live there.
After dinner at the mission house, the team met with Mike Ginter for a time of sharing where he asked us to share what had impacted us most in our first 24 hours on the island and what we expect to take away from the week.
As we prepare tonight to start building and VBS, we ask that you pray for us. Pray for open hearts and open minds – both ours and those we will be ministering with and to this week. Please pray for the family who will be receiving the keys to their new home on Thursday. The home will be built for a 28-year-old mom and her 4 boys. We met them at church today and are excited to get to know them this week and introduce them to you over the next few days.
We are blessed to be here and look forward to sharing our week with you. Thank you for your love, support and prayers.
