Mt. Zion UMC – Wednesday

/Mt. Zion UMC – Wednesday

The days seem to be flying by.

Wednesday was another great day. We had 73 at VBS and learned about Jesus calling Andrew to be His disciple. The story reminded us that God’s Champions follow the coach. The kids enjoyed making a necklace with a fish charm during craft time. Many smiles were seen in the snack corner as they enjoyed a cupcake topped with the Olympic rings made out of fruit loop cereal.

The house is finished!  The team finished the house early and was able to leave the site at 1:00 p.m.  We are amazed by what God has allowed us to accomplish this week. We enjoyed an afternoon relaxing at the mission house; some of us caught up on some sleep.

The new homeowner has been onsite all week helping with construction. Her name is Anna Kay Scarlett. She is a 28-year-old single mother who is raising four young boys. Two are her biological children and two are step children. She has been struggling to find housing and has been catching (staying) with a friend. Her sons names are Paul Patrick Pitter (age 11), Prince Peter Pitter (age 9), Peter Paul Pitter (age 6) and Dantae Carlose White (age 9). We have enjoyed getting to know Anna Kay, Paul, Prince and Peter this week. Dantae has not been around as he is away right now. The boys are very active and they are all excited to have a new home to call their own.

Your support and prayers have made this week possible. Our team is blessed to be called to Jamaica to serve and we are grateful for friends, family and even those we don’t know personally who give of their time and finances to make our time here possible.

Please continue to pray for us as we begin saying goodbye on Thursday. We have many good friends in the Carron Hall area and Thursday will be our last day with them until the Lord calls us back to Jamaica. We love them and miss them when we are apart.

The construction team finished the house on Wednesday and look on while Harry clears away a tree stump from the front yard.
