Hurricane Melissa Relief
Hurricane Relief Update
Real Needs. Real Action. Real Ministry on the Ground.
In the days since Hurricane Melissa, the situation in Jamaica continues to demand fast, steady action. Power, water, and communication remain inconsistent, and many families are still trying to recover from significant loss.
Last week, a local school principal contacted our team about a student whose home had been completely destroyed. We partner closely with this school—one of our local pastors teaches there—and the student was preparing to sit exams (much like the SAT) with nowhere to live.
Because of the relief funds already given, we didn’t wait for a team from the States or pause to raise more money. Our Jamaican staff — together with two local pastors and several teachers — stepped in immediately to build a new home.
And now, the home is complete.
No delay. No red tape. Just the Body of Christ taking care of its own community.
This is the kind of ministry we believe in.
Why This Matters
This isn’t just disaster response.
This is empowerment.
Your generosity equips Jamaican leaders — the people who live there, serve there, and understand the needs better than anyone — to step in immediately. They aren’t waiting on us. They’re leading the way, and we are coming alongside them.
This is the heart of how we operate:
Serving the Church
Serving the people in the Church
Serving the community
Serving the nations
Relief funds don’t just fix problems; they release local ministry. They allow pastors, teachers, and CSI staff to take action the moment a need shows up — not weeks later.
What’s Next
We’re already planning to send a small team in December to help rebuild another damaged home. But even now, while teams are being organized, ministry is happening because Jamaicans are doing what God has called them to do in their own communities.
That’s the story here:
When you give, you’re not paying for outsiders to swoop in.
You’re equipping local leaders — faithful, capable, and present every day — to be the hands and feet of Christ right where they live.
Thank you for making that possible.
And thank you for standing with Jamaica in this critical moment.
Together, let’s continue showing what it means to serve — not just in the storm, but in the steady work of rebuilding that follows.
