Hurricane Melissa Relief
Prepared for the Storm. Committed for the Long Haul.
Current Situation
Hurricane Melissa has ravaged Jamaica.
We don’t yet know the full impact. We haven’t been able to reach our local staff yet — power and cell service are likely to be out for days. Roads may be impassable, and the damage won’t be clear for some time.
But we do know this: God is still faithful — and we are preparing.
Why This Relief Fund Exists
This isn’t a reaction driven by fear — it’s a step of readiness rooted in experience.
We’re launching this fund now so that when the needs become clear, we’re already positioned to move. Not with guesses, but with grounded action. Not with noise, but with care.
We believe that compassion and strategy go hand in hand — and wise preparation now allows for real help when it matters most.
Led by Local Staff — Backed by Strategic Partners
We’re not guessing from afar.
Our Jamaican field staff are on the ground, deeply connected in their communities, and will guide our response based on real-time needs.
We’re also grateful to be partnering with Mtn2Sea Ministries (Georgia), who already have a plane ready to deliver supplies. As soon as we have safe access and assess the roads, they’ll be flying in 100 generators and critical relief supplies — resources that will be shared with multiple trusted ministries on the island, including CSI.
This isn’t isolated action. It’s collaborative, strategic, and relational.
And it ensures help reaches where it’s truly needed — not just where it’s easiest.
Our Commitment to You
We are committed to:
Taking action based on local leadership and on-the-ground insight
Prioritizing both immediate relief and long-term recovery
Using every gift wisely and transparently
Sharing regular updates and financial summaries
This isn’t reactive charity — it’s thoughtful, sustained ministry.
How You Can Help (Right Now)
1. Pray
For protection of life and property
For our staff and local churches
For wisdom and strength in the days ahead
2. Give
Donate to the Hurricane Melissa Relief Fund
Your gift equips our team to respond with strength, not delay. A portion will support administrative costs that allow us to move quickly and stay engaged for the long term.
3. Stay Connected
Continue to check our website, our Facebook page, or our Instagram. We will keep them updated as we gain new information. You can also subscribe to our mailing list to receive email updates.
What We Know — and What We Don’t
We Know
Our Jamaican staff are ready to assess needs and respond wisely.
We have secure local contacts, trusted churches, and supply channels.
Your giving will be used with care and accountability.
We Don’t Know Yet
How much damage Hurricane Melissa has caused.
When power, water, and phone service will be restored.
Which regions of Jamaica have been hit the hardest.
We’ll update this section as information becomes available.
Prepared for More Than Just Relief
Relief is urgent. But restoration is ongoing.
Our plan goes beyond food and tarps. With your help, we’ll walk with communities through:
Phase 1: Emergency food, shelter, hygiene kits
Phase 2: Clean-up supplies, temporary repairs, reconnection with churches
Phase 3: Long-term home rebuilding, roof repairs, community rehab, local church support
This is not a one-week response. It’s a faithful presence — just like CSI has offered in Jamaica since 1977.
We Will Keep You Posted
As soon as conditions allow, our field staff will send photos, reports, and real-time updates. You’ll find them here and in your inbox (if subscribed).
We’ll also share financial summaries to show how funds are being used.
Thank You for Standing With Jamaica
This is what partnership looks like.
Through storms. Through setbacks. Through seasons of rebuilding.
Thank you for being part of it.
