Hurricane Melissa Relief

Hurricane Relief Update

Real Needs. Real Action. Real Ministry on the Ground.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, communities in Jamaica faced significant challenges as families began the long process of recovery. Thanks to the generosity and quick response of supporters, CSI’s local team was able to respond immediately alongside pastors, teachers, and community leaders.

Shortly after the storm, a local school principal contacted our team about a student whose home had been completely destroyed. We partner closely with this school—one of our local pastors teaches there—and the student was preparing to sit exams (much like the SAT) with nowhere to live.

Because of the relief funds already given, we didn’t wait for a team from the States or pause to raise more money. Our Jamaican staff — together with two local pastors and several teachers — stepped in immediately to build a new home.

And now, the home is complete.
No delay. No red tape. Just the Body of Christ taking care of its own community.

This is the kind of ministry we believe in.

Why This Matters

This isn’t just disaster response.
This is empowerment.

Your generosity equips Jamaican leaders — the people who live there, serve there, and understand the needs better than anyone — to step in immediately. They aren’t waiting on us. They’re leading the way, and we are coming alongside them.

This is the heart of how we operate:

  • Serving the Church

  • Serving the people in the Church

  • Serving the community

  • Serving the nations

When resources are placed in the hands of trusted local leaders, ministry happens in real time. Pastors, teachers, and CSI staff are able to respond as needs arise and continue serving their communities long after headlines fade.

What’s Next

Recovery and community ministry continue in many ways across Jamaica. Teams will keep partnering with local churches and leaders in the months ahead, supporting ongoing efforts that strengthen families and communities.

The story here is simple:

This is what it looks like when local leaders are trusted, equipped, and supported to serve their own communities. Faithful pastors, teachers, and ministry partners are continuing to be the hands and feet of Christ right where they live — long after the storm has passed.

Thank you for standing alongside our partners in Jamaica and celebrating what God continues to do through His Church.

Together, let’s continue showing what it means to serve — not just in the storm, but in the steady work of rebuilding that follows.
